Important
Every 30 minutes, CONVERGE Horizon calculates the current accrued costs for all of your organization’s resources and updates the estimated balance. If the estimated balance is equal to or less than zero, CONVERGE Horizon will stop any running jobs and delete any active workstations. You will not be able to create new resources until you add credits to your account. For help updating your account, contact your Convergent Science representative.
Organization owners can implement additional billing limits to help ensure that the balance does not fall below zero.
When Transactions Are Generated¶
CONVERGE Horizon generates billing transactions as follows:
Transactions for jobs are generated at the end of each job. These include charges for licensing, hardware, scratch storage (if applicable), and data egress (if applicable).
Transactions for workstations are generated when a workstation is deleted. These include charges for hardware, scratch storage, and data egress (if applicable).
Transactions for spaces are generated at the end of each month. These include charges for file storage and data egress. There is a separate transaction for each space.
Transactions for file systems are generated at the end of each month. These include charges for file storage, data egress, and hardware. There is a separate transaction for each file system. A transaction is also generated when a file system is deleted, and charges for that month are prorated based on the date of deletion.
Transactions for credits, payments, and other adjustments are generated when your Convergent Science representative applies them. For example, if you change your subscription from Gold to Platinum, a transaction is generated when your representative adds credit to your account.
You can view your organization’s complete transaction history in Transactions.
Important
Hardware is billed for a minimum of 1 hour for bare metal (BM) nodes and a minimum of 1 minute for virtual machine (VM) nodes. For example, if you run a job for 30 minutes on a BM node, you will be charged for 1 hour for that node. This minimum charge applies only to hardware costs. It does not apply to licensing costs.
There is also a minimum monthly cost for spaces, even all files have been removed. Empty spaces are billed at $0.01 per month.
Current Accrued Costs¶
Current accrued costs include:
Costs for jobs and workstations that are currently running.
Costs for file systems and spaces that were incurred since the last monthly transactions were generated. For example, if you upload a file to a space on June 15, you will not be charged for that file until the next transaction is generated for the space at the end of June.
You can see the current accrued cost for jobs and workstations on the Jobs page and on the Workstations page, respectively. While a job or workstation is running, the accrued cost is updated every 15 minutes. When a job or workstation is done running, the accrued cost is equal to the total amount charged in the billing transaction.
On the File Systems and Spaces pages, you can see the accrued cost for the current month for your file systems and spaces. The accrued cost is updated every 30 minutes for file systems and every 12 hours for spaces, and is reset to zero on the first of the month.
