Stop a Job

To stop a job, go to the Jobs page and click the stop button (stop-button) in the row for the job you want to stop.

If the job is running, it will be stopped by saving a STOP file to the Case Directory. This prompts CONVERGE to create a restart file, finish writing output files, and end the simulation normally. You will be given the option to discard the output data before confirming that you want to stop the job. Select this option only if you are certain that you don’t need any data from the simulation.

If the job has not started running, stopping the job is equivalent to canceling the job and removing it from the queue. Any nodes that have already been allocated for the job will be released.

Attention

In rare situations, CONVERGE might become unresponsive or experience other delays while stopping. In these scenarios, CONVERGE Horizon will wait 15 minutes for CONVERGE to stop. If CONVERGE still has not stopped after 15 minutes, CONVERGE Horizon will force CONVERGE to stop. It is possible for some data to be lost in this process.
